Words Hurt Stop the Violence” was created by the youth of the Winburn Nieghborhood in partnership with the Filmmaking Certificate Program at Bluegrass Community and Technical College and the Media Collaboratory. By using filmmaking as a catalyst for their ideas, the youth were able to identify and internalize violence prevention strategies and share these with their friends. The video is part of Saint Joseph Hospital/Kentucky One and Catholic Health Initiatives United Against Violence campaign, which is focusing on issues of youth violence in Lexington, KY.
